RINKQUEST

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

The short version: RinkQuest does not ask kids for personal information, has no accounts, and shows no ads. Game progress is saved only on the device you play on.

Who we are

RinkQuest is a hockey learning game made by a hockey family in Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at [email protected].

Information in the game

Clearing your browser data, or using a different device or browser, removes this information. We cannot recover it for you because we never had it.

Website statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It does not use cookies, does not track people across websites, and does not collect personal information. It reports totals such as page views, country and device type.

Game statistics

To learn which stages are too hard and which questions confuse kids, the game sends anonymous gameplay counts: a random device code (not linked to any name), the level, position and team picked, which stage was played, stars earned, time played, whether a quiz answer was right, and items bought with in-game coins. It never sends jersey names, numbers, photos or logos. We do not store IP addresses with these counts, do not use cookies, and do not share the data with anyone or use it for advertising. Counts older than 13 months are deleted.

Parents who buy a Family Pass

We store the parent's email (for the receipt), the family code, and the random device ids of up to 3 devices that entered the code, so we can check the pass is active. The game sends only the code and the random device id, never a child's name. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see card numbers. You can reset devices on your parent page, or ask us to delete your family record.

Coaches who buy a Team Pass

When an adult buys a Team Pass we store their email, the team name, color, logo and weekly focus on our server so their players can load them. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. The coach page shows only anonymous counts for the team (for example how many players practised and which stages are hardest), never player names. Ask us any time to delete your team.

Parents and coaches who contact us

If an adult emails us or signs up for updates or the team beta, we receive that adult's name and email address. We use it only to reply and send RinkQuest updates, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Our sign-up forms are for adults 18 and over.

Children's privacy

RinkQuest is designed for children ages 5 to 12. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, there is no chat, and kids cannot message other players. We follow the principles of Canada's PIPEDA, the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU/UK GDPR and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Advertising

There are no ads and no advertising trackers inside the game. We may advertise RinkQuest to adults on other websites, but we do not place ad trackers on the game pages kids use.

Third-party services

Changes

If we add features that change how information is handled, such as shared team leaderboards or accounts, we will update this page first and, where required, ask for a parent's permission.
